Advait Chandan’s breezy bubbly bouncy take on love during the times of the smartphone, Loveyapa, is all set to grow steadily into a force to reckon with.

Roshan Singh, a leading distributor of Bihar, says, “So far, 2025 has been filled with action films which have all been rejected in bulk. I think the time is right for a love story, and that too breezy one. Loveyapa fills that bill.”

Says the Loveyapa director Advait Chandan, “We packaged the film as fun fiesta. But the jokes are not the loud, unruly kind of cheesy humour. The jokes land. The characters are funny but relatable. We’ve tried to keep the fun element alive till the end.”

Actor-politician Shatrughan Sinha has lavish praise for Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor, who will be seen together on February 7 in co-producers Madhu Mantena and Shristi Behl’s Loveyapa.

The irrepressible veteran gets sentimental as he speaks of the youngsters. “In Junaid and Khushi I see the same spark as Aamir Khan and Sridevi. Yeh bachche bahot honhaar hain. Aur woh imaandar hai. Their determination to master the skills required to face the camera is exemplary. When I came into the film industry, I was zero prepared. Bas, ek junoon ttha, mujhe acto ban na hai, mujhe actor ban na hai. It is like saying, mujhe khana bana-na hai, without even knowing how to turn on the stove.”

Shatruji sees a lot of preparation in the two Loveyapa actors. “They have watched their parent from childhood. They know what they are up against. Every minute, they will be compared to Aamir and Khushi. But I don’t think these kids are intimidated by the fear of comparison. When my daughter(Sonakshi Sinha) decided to become an actor, she was determined to do it on her own without my help. Aamir and Boney Kapoor could have produced a dozen films for Junaid and Khushi. But they’ve chosen to walk on their own path, to make it on their own. Wah!”
