Fans of the lush love songs featured in Yash Raj romances may get to see their favourites in a whole new light, if the latest rumour to come off the set of I Hate Luv Storys is to be believed.
Word from the set is that IHLS director Punit Malhotra is a die-hard fan of romantic movies, especially those made by Dharma and Yash Raj Films. As a tribute to iconic love songs, Malhotra is allegedly including a spoof of songs from films like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, featuring comedic lyrics and stars Imran Khan and Sonam Kapoor camping it up in a variety of outfits.
The hilarious sequence is said to be a highlight of the film and is described as reinforcing the film’s theme as “an all-out love story that deals with the different emotions a person goes through when in and out of a relationship. The love song parody is very situational,” according to the source.
Punit Malhotra is staying tightlipped on the matter for the moment however – denying that the song exists at all. Is it just a rumour, or is the director trying to preserve the surprise element for when the film releases? We will have to wait and see!
