The big secret about David Dhawan’s new rom-com Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, is now revealed. The film is actually a remake of David’s 1999 hit Biwi No 1 which itself was a remake of the 1995 Tamil film Sathi Leelavathi.
Interestingly this is the second time Varun Dhawan is doing a remake of a Salman starrer. Earlier he featured in Judwaa 2 under his father David Dhawan’s direction. This was a remake of David’s 1997 hit Judwaa.
The remake with Varun was far less successful than the original. Why do remakes especially of films that were not such great classics in the first place?
