Kismat Konnection star Vidya Balan has just returned from a month in New York where she’s been for a fundraiser. Her trip included a fashion show where she walked the ramp at the Marriott Hotel in Long Island. She is now back in India and ready to shoot her next venture Pa with Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan. The Parineeta actress, for which she won a Best Female Debut Award for her role as Lolita, has a career that’s looking good.
Vidya, who has a degree in Sociology, also won Best Actress Awards for Bhool Bhulaiya and Lage Raho Munnabhai in Bollywood; and for the Bengali film Bhalo Theko, in which she made her real debut. She has also appeared in Guru, Salaam-e-Ishq, Heyy Baby and Eklavya.
Insider sources say that it was Vidya that provided the final nail in the coffin of the Shahid Kapur – Kareena Kapoor relationship, although they had already been arguing for several months. “Then came the news of Shahid’s increasing closeness to his Kismet Connection co-star, Vidya Balan, in Toronto,” says the source. “Meanwhile, Kareena was shooting for Tashan in Jaisalmer. Initially, Kareena didn’t believe the rumours and whenever she asked Shahid, he maintained that Vidya and he were good friends and nothing more.” However, later it emerged that “Vidya and Shahid would spend hours on and off the sets. After the shootiong, they would vanish together. That’s when Kareena finally realised that Shahid had truly moved on.”
