We have more from the Thaandavam press meet in London, for UTV Disney South. The UTV South Head, Dhananjayan Govind, also an eminent writer, of the definitive book on Tamil cinema, joined the cast and crew, to compere the press conference.

Thaandavam, a high octane thriller, is causing lots of buzz. The film was shot for over 60 days in London, starring Vikram (Raavan, Anniyan), Anushka Shetty (Deiva Thirumagal, Singam 2), Amy Jackson (British teen beauty queen, who acted in Madrasapattinam with Arya, and Ekk Deewana Tha with Pratik), Lakshmi Rai (who won awards for her female villian role in Mankatha and was in Dhaam Dhoom).

It also stars Nassar, the award winning character actor from films like Mani Ratnam’s Nayakan, Roja and Bombay and was most recently seen on screen as the villain in the 100 crore hit, Rowdy Rathore, alongside Akshay Kumar. He will also been seen in the forthcoming Superstar Rajinikanth 3D film, Kochadaiyaan.

About the Film:

Thaandavam is an action entertainer in the backdrop of two countries India and United Kingdom and how an honest officer gets entangled into a conspiracy and his attempts to save the people and country’s honor from the conspirators. After the highly appreciated and commercial hit ‘Deivathirumagal’ in 2011, the team of Vikram-Vijay is back with this film.

The film was shot in Delhi and Chennai for four weeks before shifting to London for this extensive schedule. It was shot in most popular locations of London and the surrounding areas capturing the natural beauty and heritage of this magnificent country. The cast and crew received excellent support from the local authorities of London, which has helped completing the film as planned.

The film’s Cinematography is by Nirav Shah, Music by GV. Prakash Kumar (AR Rahman’s nephew), Lyrics by Na Muthukumar, Art Direction by Nagu and Editing by Anthony. The film is 25th musical from GV Prakash Kumar, who is one of the top music composers of South India today and for Thaandavam he has recorded five memorable melody numbers.
