When you hear about a classic being screened again, you imagine skipped frames, shaking clips, adulterated sound or forcefully colored frames.
But a classic is one that is presented to you as the original experience of the film is remembered to be.
A rare example of such restoration is what Vinod Chopra Films has brought for their fans this year. The banner is celebrating the 30 years of contribution to cinema by the team by screening all its films at ’30 Years of Striving in Cinema- A Festival of Vinod Chopra Films’. And when we say classic, we mean more that its literal meaning.
The company has digitally restored all prints from the pre-Munnabhai era and the sound of the films like Parinda and 1942 A Love Story has been re-done in 5.1 Surround Sound. Remember the pigeon scene from Parinda and the music of 1942? Just imagine the impact it would now have with the new sound!
The list of films that are a part of this initiative is – Khamosh, Parinda, 1942- A Love Story, Kareeb, Mission Kashmir, Munnabhai MBBS, Lage Raho Munnabhai, Parineeta, Eklavya & 3 Idiots. Audiences can go to any digital PVR in the country and enjoy the magic of these films, from March 29-April 4. Some of these films will also be streamed online.
