When Preity Zinta chose IPL and studies over the glitz and glamour of Bollywood, we were not too sure if she would be making a return to the silver screen. She was last seen in an item number from Main Aur Mrs Khanna starring Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor.
Preity says that 2011 is about her getting back into the film industry and she admits to putting on a bit of weight during her time off. She says that she has shed it all “because I can’t afford to look like that in a film.”
We can be assured that the actress does not plan on going anywhere and says, “I just took 18 months off from films. And I knew that I would be back to do what I was originally famous for – films. And this year, I am back to work.”
Preity has been kept quite busy with Guinness World Record Ab India Todega as well as shooting for commercials. Although she does not reveal too much, it was earlier reported that she will have a role in a Yash Raj production, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan which has a cast comprising of Imran Khan, Katrina Kaif and Ali Zafar. Apparently, she was also a choice for Dhoom 3 opposite Aamir Khan, which also happens to be under the Yash Raj banner.
Responding to these reports, Preity says, “I’ll start working on films this year for sure, but my lips are sealed. Announcement will come from the producers. But I’ll be doing some real cool films.”
