It’s not monsoon season in India, but it sure is raining weddings in Bollywood. Two of Hindi cinema’s actresses have gone ahead to indulge in marital bliss in the last week and the film fraternity flocked to be a part of the dual celebrations.

As we reported previously, first on the list was the bubbly Ayesha Takia. She wed her boyfriend of two years, hotelier Farhan Azmi. The couple were to originally wed late last year but decided to postpone their wedding plans due to the Mumbai Terror Attacks in November. However, they went ahead on the 1st of March and had a quiet nikaah amongst family and close friends. This was followed by a fancy reception the next day which was attended by the Bollywood brigade in all its grandeur. The likes of Abhishek Bachchan with mom Jaya, Ritiesh Deshmukh, Suneil Shetty, Rohit Shetty, Nauheed Cyrusi, Nandita Mahtani, Nagesh Kukunoor and many more came out to wish the couple and give their best wishes. Takia looked ravishing in a gold embellished lengha and in true tradition kept her head covered to show respect. Takia has gone on record to say that she will adopt her husband’s last name making her the new Mrs. Ayesha Azmi.

Amrita Arora followed very closely after. She was all set to marry her boyfriend, businessman Shakeel Ladhak in a local Mumbai church on March 2nd, when she was informed that she would have to call off the ceremony because of security issues. Fortunately, Amu was prepared and the wedding parade headed the following day to a local restaurant and watched her walk down the aisle. Arora was dressed in a white dressed embellished in pearls looking smashing along with her bridesmaids, best friend Kareena Kapoor, Sister Mallaika Arora-Khan and make-up artist Mallika Bhatt. The Sangeet function is said to be one filled with great pomp. Close friends and family including Arbaaz-Malaika, Kareena-Saif, Arpita Khan, Salman Khan and her parents will all be part of a small parody which will include dances, as a dedication to the bride. The dances have been choreographed by Farah Khan and hosted by Sajid Khan. A traditional Nikaah is also scheduled for the couple. Beautiful outfits along with exquisite jewelry has been designed for Amrita for all her functions.

That’s two for two! Wedding’s normally means lots of partying for the Bollywood crowd who probably don’t mind at all. BollySpice wishes the couples love, luck and happiness always.
