Netflix has announced its India slate of films and shows, and it is incredible. With a myriad of genres, the lineup to come includes crime and thrillers, family dramas, comedy, rom-coms, and even unscripted formats, all set to, as Monika Shergill said, ‘to celebrate, entertain, and salute India’.
Monika Shergill, Vice President – Content, Netflix India, says, “Ten years of Netflix in India isn’t a milestone we mark alone. It’s a story we’ve written together with creators who took bold risks, actors and technicians who brought those visions to life, partners who built with passion, teams who kept raising the bar, and above all, audiences who welcomed these stories with curiosity and openness. A decade of streaming has reinforced a simple truth: there is no single way to tell Indian stories, and no single audience to serve. India is one nation, made up of many Indias. Our work begins and continues with embracing all of them.
“As we look ahead to the next chapter, our 2026 slate reflects this belief, shaped by the clear ambition to celebrate, entertain, and salute India, one story at a time. It brings together established names and visionary creators alongside emerging voices, while expanding our canvas across genres — from high-stakes crime and thrillers to family dramas, comedy, rom-coms, unscripted formats, and stories rooted in everyday life. Underpinning it all is a commitment we hold deeply: to empower India’s storytellers, nurture new voices, and create stories that truly entertain.”
Let’s start out with a sneak peek
Stories from the Many Indias
Here are some highlights
Family Business
For audiences drawn to stories with scale, emotional depth, and intensity, the slate leans into bold, layered narratives — from Hansal Mehta’s Family Business, starring Anil Kapoor and Vijay Varma in a high-stakes battle for control within a powerful business dynasty.A visionary billionaire grooms a rising tycoon to take over the reins of India’s largest conglomerate as his successor. Months into the top job, he is unceremoniously fired where the mentor takes back the throne. Refusing to accept his downfall, the ousted successor strikes back, turning a corporate succession battle into a no-holds-barred war. Old secrets surface, alliances fracture, and the fight for control threatens to rip apart one of India’s most respected business empires, showing how quickly questions of legacy and blood can turn power into a personal vendetta.
The team of Family Business shares: “ Family Business explores the deeply complicated and messy personal relationships that define every boardroom battle of a family of tycoons. What happens when inheritance becomes expectation, and legacies collide? It’s a ride unlike any other in a world never seen before. We’re excited for audiences to get their first glimpse of this world through Next on Netflix, and we look forward to revealing more of the story in the months ahead.”
Operation Safed Sagar tells the story of the Indian Air Force’s pivotal role in the Kargil War, exploring a side of the conflict that has never been seen in Indian cinema. Moving on to the rhythms of everyday life, Chumbak is a warm, slice-of-life series led by Neena Gupta that celebrates the often-forgotten joy of community, from the house of India’s favourites JD Majethia and Aatish Kapadia. Nilanjana Purkayasstha brings a gripping romantic-thriller with Yeh Dil Sun Raha Hai, exploring a world where passion, obsession, and morality blur.
Maa Behen
Maa Behen, starring Madhuri Dixit and Tripti Dimri, transforms family chaos into a darkly comic thriller.
When Rekha and her daughters, Jaya and Sushma, the centre of all (controversial!) attention in their conservative locality, find themselves in the middle of a situation with a dead body in their kitchen, the perpetually struggling, constantly squabbling ‘Maa-Behen’ trio must team up to cover up the ‘crime’.
The team of Maa Behen shares: “This is a film that lives in a genre of its own, familiar yet completely unpredictable. A big part of the fun was discovering its tone during the shoot and trusting the incredible performances of Madhuri Dixit, Triptii Dimri, Ravi Kishan, and Dharna Durga to lead the way. Netflix has been the perfect partner in embracing this bold, genre-bending vision and giving us the freedom to tell a story that’s unapologetically irreverent and designed to surprise audiences at every turn, and we’re genuinely excited for audiences globally to experience it.
At the other end of the emotional spectrum lies the gritty, high-stakes world of Neeraj Pandey’s Ghooskhor Pandat, headlined by the formidable Manoj Bajpayee, where moral choices carry real consequences. Balancing intensity with intimacy, Musafir Cafe, starring Vikrant Massey, explores an unfinished story of love, self-discovery, and second chances. Expanding this spectrum further are psychological dramas such as Anubhuti Kashyap’s Accused, starring Konkona Sen Sharma.
Continuing this exploration of India’s social and cultural fabric is Hum Hindustani. Headlined by Saif Ali Khan and Pratik Gandhi, and inspired by remarkable true events, the film brings to life the powerful story of India’s first general election — a defining moment that shaped the nation after Independence.
The team of Hum Hindustani shares: “At the heart of Hum Hindustani lies one of the most defining promises of a newly independent India- the right to vote. Telling the story of the country’s first democratic election through the eyes of those on the ground has been both a responsibility and a privilege. It is a story of belief, courage, and collective effort that shaped the nation we know today. We are immensely proud to bring Rahul Dholakia’s vision to Netflix and to present this landmark chapter of Indian history with the scale and ambition it deserves, for audiences in India and far beyond.”
From the foundations of democracy to the possibilities of the future, Hello Bachhon offers a moving narrative of hope and transformation, exploring the real-world impact of one of India’s most successful edtech start-ups and the power of access to education.
IKKA

A classic Bollywood masala of IKKA, featuring two powerhouse performers of Indian cinema, Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna.
A celebrated, incorruptible lawyer is arm-twisted into defending a murder accused, a man whose career he’d notoriously ended, pushing him to use every trick in the trade, ethical or not, to win the case because if he fails, he stands to lose everything he holds dear.
The team of IKKA shares: “We are excited to deliver IKKA, our second original for Netflix after Maharaj, which garnered immense audience love. This deeply personal script, nurtured for years, unfolds as a riveting face-off between two arch-rivals: a top lawyer forced to defend the man whose past with him and his wife holds many painful memories. Brace for a relentless thriller packed with emotional depth, a father’s unyielding quest to shield his family, even at the cost of his principles, in a deal with the devil. Ideological clashes fuel this high-octane battle from the word go till the last frame with twists and turns galore. Our profound thanks to Netflix for this platform, and to the cosmos for uniting Sunny Deol, Akshaye Khanna, Tillotama Shome, Dia, Sanjeeda, Jyoti, and a stellar cast and even better crew. We hope viewers revel in the pace and champion these characters.”
Also on the mystery strand is Rensil D Silva and Siddharth P Malhotra’s Talaash: A Mother’s Search featuring Parineeti Chopra, Soni Razdan, Anup Soni, Jennifer Winget, Tahir Bhasin, Harleen Sethi, Dhruv Chowdhary, and Sumeet Vya. Tormented by yearly snapshots of her abducted child, a desperate mother discovers that the truth she’s been hunting for nine years isn’t in a far-off place—it’s buried deep within the secrets of those she trusts most. The team of Talaash: A Mother’s Search shares: Talaash: A Mother’s Search is an emotional journey shaped by instinct, love, and the unshakeable belief of a mother. At its core, the series explores how far belief can carry a person when the world around her questions her truth. Brought to life by an extraordinary cast, this kidnapping drama unfolds with emotional honesty and restraint, letting performances guide the mystery. We’re excited for the show to find its home on Netflix and for audiences to experience this haunting, deeply human journey.”
Kartavya

Kartavya, a powerful social impact story from Red Chillies Entertainment starring Saif Ali Khan and Sanjay Mishra.
With his family’s safety at stake and menacing threats closing in, a police officer must decide how far he’ll go to uphold his duty.
The team of Kartavya shares: “Kartavya marks the second collaboration between Red Chillies Entertainment, Netflix, and director Pulkit, following Bhakshak. As a team, we are committed to telling stories that push creative boundaries and resonate deeply, and Kartavya is a powerful reflection of that vision. Set in the heartland, the film explores the complex intersections of law, family, truth, and duty, with Saif delivering remarkable depth and intensity in a morally layered character. We are delighted to partner with Netflix on this journey and look forward to audiences across the world experiencing this gripping and compelling narrative.”
Our commitment to entertaining India in every mood continues with a growing unscripted slate from the fiery reality series Lock Upp, to the glamour of Desi Bling, and the return of laughter and spectacle with The Great Indian Kapil Show for its fifth season. Also, catch the return of some fan favourite series. Mismatched returns for its fourth season, Lust Stories for its third, and Maamla Legal Hai Season 2 brings back familiar characters navigating stranger cases and bigger ambitions.
Together, these stories reflect how India lives, loves, disagrees, grows, and ultimately, comes together.
South India’s Cinematic Force
Stories from the South continue to captivate audiences with bold vision and emotional depth — spanning modern romances, supernatural thrillers, family sagas, and heartfelt comedy.
In Tamil, the slate reflects both contemporary sensibilities and cinematic ambition — from #Love, a rom-com series set in the fast-evolving world of dating apps, Anchoring this lineup is Legacy, a Tamil series starring R. Madhavan that tells a visually rich, emotionally charged story of family, power, and inheritance.
As well as to the cross-cultural drama Made in Korea, a film that explores identity across
The story follows Shenba, a girl from a small town in Tamil Nadu who has always dreamed of visiting Korea. However, when she finally arrives under undesirable circumstances, she finds that life in this familiar yet alien land is far from ideal. Made in Korea is a heartwarming journey of self-discovery, resilience, and the lifelong friendships that Shenba forms along the way.
The team of Made In Korea shares: “Made In Korea is a heartfelt coming-of-age story about identity, resilience, and finding connection far from home. Set against the vibrant backdrop of Seoul, the movie explores what it means to start over emotionally, culturally, and personally. What excited us most was telling an authentic, slice-of-life story that celebrates the growing cultural connection between India and Korea. Partnering with Netflix allows this intimate yet universal story to travel seamlessly across borders and resonate with audiences around the world.
In Telugu, we are expanding into genre-led and format-defining storytelling. Takshakudu marks Anand Deverakonda’s Netflix debut in a gripping supernatural mystery film, while Super Subbu, our first Telugu series, brings humour, heart, and a distinctly unique voice to the slate.
