2024 was filled with a many marvelous movie moments on the big screen. Check out what Subhash K Jha lists as some of the best!

Magic just happens. It happened five times this year on screen.

1. When Vidya Balan & Pratik Gandhi danced to ‘Bin tere sanam’ in Do Aur Do Pyar: Nothing rehearsed about it. When Vidya Balan and Pratik Gandhi broke into a jig , some of the dance moves especially the signature move derived straight from the lead pair Asif Sheikh and Ruchika Pandey from the 1991 film Yaara Dildara, the song finally got the zingy breezy contagious treatment it deserved.

2. Allu Arjun’s Jathara Dance In Pushpa 2: The Rule : Even the frenzied fans of the Franchise would agree, Allu Arjun’s 21-minute Jathara dance in a Saree was the film’s highlight. The rest of the film ek taraf, this dance of divinity on the other side. It had no direct, or indirect, relevance to the plot. But who cares? Allu dancing in saree was as fetching as Vidya Balan in Bhool Bhulaiya 3.

3. Vidya Balan-Madhuri Dixit’s Face Off In Bhool Bhulaiya 3: We thought no one could do it better than Madhuri Dixit and Aishwarya Rai in Devdas. But then Madhuri and Vidya proved us wrong when they got on the dancefloor in Anees Bazmee’s blockbuster.Time stood still. We wanted to rewind the special number over and over again, and watch the rest of the film some other time.

4. Vikrant Massey’s Monologue In Sector 36: When Massey as Prem is interrogated by cop Deepak Dobriyal, (spoiler ahead) Massey transforms into a monster who has absolutely no shame or guilt describing in graphic detail how he dismembered hordes of kids for his own pleasure. It is a monster monologue , the terrifying takeaway from the brilliant film.

5. Varun Dhawan’s Pole Dance On The Kapil Sharma Show: Just about the best thing that Varun did this year was the Pole Dance on Kapil Sharma’s show. As he slid up and down that greasy pole,we saw an alternative career for Varun.
