Divya Spandana, also known as Kuthu Ramya – a name she picked up from her debut film in Kollywood, has been cheerily fishing for a role with Tamil superstar Ajith of late. “I will be very happy if I get an opportunity to share the screen space with him,” she admits, “I have heard my colleagues describing him a man of simplicity, hard work and dedication.”
Meanwhile, pretty Diya has two projects on the boil in Chennai – Kadhal 2 Kalyanam and Singam Puli, both of which she hopes will bring her the success she enjoyed opposite Dhanush in Polladhavan and Vaaranam Aayiram opposite Surya. In Kadhal 2 Kalyanam, she features opposite newcomer Sathya in a romantic comedy and in Singam Puli, she is paired with Jeeva.
But it’s in the Kannada industry that Divya has so far done her best work, including Mussanjemaatu with Sudeep, for which she was nominated for a Filmfare Best Actress award. In the movie, she plays a young woman suffering from depression. She is pairing up with Suddep again in both Kichha Huchha and Just Math Mathali, to be released later this year.
