In a green-gold halterline lehenga with a full midnight blue skirt decorated with broad golden motifs, all topped off by a shimmering silk dupatta, she walked the ramp alongside Tusshar Kapoor, looking a dashing suitor in a chocolate brown sherwani with white flannel trousers. Genelia admitted to being a bundle of nerves before taking the walk. “When I was about to walk the ramp, I had butterflies in my stomach and was very nervous,” she says, “Manish walked up to me and said be yourself and don’t get nervous. Now considering I don’t walk the ramp everyday, I walked the ramp the way I generally walk — like an actress!”

Genelia has said she’s very excited at the possibility of a Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na sequel. Director Abbas Tyrewala has said it would be different to the first and would focus on Jai and Aditi’s marriage woes. “All of us in Jaane Tu have been very busy. Everyone went their separate ways,” confirms Genelia, “I’ve been working round the clock on my films and endorsements. But whenever I meet Abbas or Imran, we feel the same warmth that we felt during the making of the film.”

Along with fashion and photomodelling, endorsements are becoming an increasingly important source of marginal income for Bollywood stars. Genelia will be taking over the role of the bubby college girl portrayed so well by Preity Zinta in the Cadburys Perk commercials. “Yes, I am endorsing two variants of Cadburys Perk,” she states, “One is ‘Ultra Perk’ and the second one is called ‘Perk Poppers’, a variant that’s yet to be launched.”
