For the song picturization of the foot-tapping “Yeh Ishq” from Jab We Met, choreographer Saroj Khan used over 180 dancers from different parts of Himachal Pradesh. According to director Imtiaz Ali, “We had local troupes from Tibet, Chamba, Bilaspur, Kinnor, Dharamshala, Hamirpur and Kullu.”

Filmed in Manali, the promo of the song shows small glimpses of the many different styles of dancing Khan utilized. Kareena Kapoor, one of the stars of the film, is seen dancing with the different groups and their gorgeous costumes. Also dancing with them is Saumya Tandon. Tandon is the well-known star of Meri Awaz Ko Mil Gayee Roshni, a soap on the Star Plus channel.

Saroj Khan loved working with all the dancers and was very impressed with their talent. In fact, she was so pleased after working with them all she gave each of the dancers a gift of some chocolate. Who was the best troupe you may ask? Well that honor went to the dancers from Tibet when Saroj declared them the winners!

The promo certainly looks amazing and we can’t wait to see the entire song on the big screen! Jab We Met also stars Shahid Kapoor and is releasing on October 26th.
