Finally! Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra can jump for joy as he has finally signed an actor to play the lead role in his next, Delhi 6.
It seems Mehra and casting don’t do very well together. The role was initially meant for Abhishek Bachchan who later opted out for unknown reasons. Subsequently, Hrithik Roshan was offered the role but apparently he wanted some changes in the script. Eventually, he dropped the project. Mehra began to get desperate and he frantically ran to Akshay Kumar with the project. Akshay, who is on a career-high these days, could not fit Delhi 6 into his jam-packed schedule. Even Ranbir Kapoor who hasn’t even seen the release of his first film yet was offered the role but had already signed a Yash Raj Film. Last but not least, southern superstar Siddharth was asked to do the role but things didn’t materialize.
Well, the crazy search for an actor is over as Rakeysh has reportedly signed Aamir Khan’s nephew, Imran Khan, for the film. Imran is currently awaiting the release of his debut film titled Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na (coincidentally produced by Aamir).
Well, let’s hope this one’s final.
