We reported awhile ago that Akshay Kumar was going to take over the role of the don in Once Upon A Time In Mumbaii 2. Akshay has now officially signed on the dotted line and is involved in intense sittings with the director, Milan Luthria, in preparation for the role.

Akshay will play the lead role of notorious underworld don Dawood in the sequel to the huge Box Office success, Once Upon A Time in Mumbaii. The part was originally played by Emraan Hashmi. The 2010 film was acclaimed by critics and audiences alike, and the excitement is already building around the forthcoming sequel and Akshay’s role in the film. Unlike its prequel, the film will feature lots of high-octane action sequences, for which Akshay Kumar is the perfect candidate.

Akshay, whose demand among filmmakers is red hot, is currently in talks with the bosses and is likely to bolster the franchise’s image once he gets on board. Director, Milan Luthria’s sequel will continue with the original tale of Shoaib (Dawood) and how he builds up his empire following the death of Sultan (Haji) in the smash hit first installment.

Stay tuned because we will bring you all the updates on this exciting sequel.
