Trust SRK to do everything King-size. Shah Rukh, whose Red Chillies Entertainment is producing the youth-based movie Always Kabhi Kabhi (AKK), made sure that the GEN Y stars who debut in this movie will always cherish their first press meet. Held in Mumbai at Taj Lands End, Bandra yesterday, the music launch of AKK was attended by almost all the people associated with the movie, including Shah Rukh. The main starcast – Zoa Morani, Ali Fazal, Satyajeet Dubey and Giselle Monteiro – was present along with director Roshan Abbas, music producer Bhushan Kumar, music director Pritam, lyricist Amitabh Bhattacharya, and singer Aditi Sharma among others.
Bhushan Kumar, T-Series head, launched the digital music of AKK while SRK unveiled the music CDs. The launch was followed by performances by the lead cast. Talking about the movie, Roshan said that a lot of research had gone into perfecting the look for this school-life based movie. Thanking SRK for supporting his dream, Roshan said that it was his belief in this movie that led this to completion and he will always be indebted to Shah Rukh for this. Adding to that, SRK said, “The reason for backing this movie is not for exploiting the current market for youth based movies. It is because I genuinely believe in this project. The young stars in this movie are highly talented and very professional. Compared to my times, these youngsters are a lot more confident and have more knowledge about the craft.” When a reporter cheekily asked, ‘Yeh movie aapne dil se banayi hai ya dimaag se (Did you make this movie from the heart or the head), SRK wittily replied, “Wahin se banayi hai jahan se tumhe ye sawaal poocha hai!” (Made it from the same place from where you have asked this question). Happy with Kolkata Knight Riders performance in IPL, SRK clarified that he had invited only his own KKR team for the party along with a few Bollywood friends and any reports otherwise were foolish.
Music has been a strong point of all eight of the movies Red Chillies has produced so far, and SRK reinstated that AKK’s music is good too, with great effort being put in by Pritam. Talking about lyrics SRK said, “I don’t mind lyrics like ‘Karma is a Bitch’. Many songs are written for the youth nowadays and so have phrases which the youngsters frequently use. But we must remember that many might not understand them and our main aim is to get maximum people to like it. Like Pritam wasn’t comfortable with some of the phrases for the song ‘Antenna’ but Roshan convinced him that such language is used by the Delhi youth.” Stating that there are a few things which have changed in this generation and while watching the movie he couldn’t connect to some of the facts as he had never done them during his time he joked,” For instance, there weren’t any girls in my school so I didn’t get to romance them as these two guys got to do!”
AKK music has 10 tracks and the movie will be releasing on 17th June.
