Yash Raj Films’ forthcoming movie Band Baaja Baaraat had its exclusive music launch today ( 3rd Nov) at Reliance Timeout, Bandra, Mumbai. The two young stars of the movie, newcomer Ranveer Singh and YRF find Anushka Sharma made a late albeit grand entry to the event amidst actual ‘band-baaja‘ in true Indian ‘baaraat‘ style! After much fanfare and a grand welcome – Anushka had difficulty getting the petals off her hair! – the lead pair launched the music album of their upcoming movie. In keeping with theme of the film and in true filmi style, the gift box with the music CDs was given as a shagun which was then opened up by Ranveer and Anushka. After a bit of confusion, the couple finally settled down to a tete-a-tete with the press.
Putting light on the story of the movie, Anushka said that Band Baaja Baaraat(BBB) is about two Delhi graduates Bittu and Shruti and their roller coaster ride through work and love. “To a certain extent, we have tried to be as relatable as possible. I think every young girl and young guy will be able to relate to these people.” Ranveer, for whom BBB is his first acting project ever, was glad that his childhood dream of becoming an actor had finally come true with what he believed to be the best launch pad ever. To a typical question of how did he find working with Anushka, he wickedly replied, “It was wonderful working with Anushka. She is the best co-star I have ever worked with! It’s also because she is the only co-star I have ever worked with!” Refuting rumors of a scuffle at a Delhi airport and his father being a producer of the movie, Ranveer stated that he had gone through a tremendous struggle period like any newcomer and had to give extensive auditions before being finally selected. And as far as the media scrutiny was concerned, he realized that it was a part and parcel of the job and hence had no complaints. Ranveer, who has signed a 3-film non-exclusive contract with YRF, recalled how during an intense scene he had hit his female co-star by mistake and how he had been completely mesmerized by Aditya Chopra’s persona when he had first met him.
Festive time obviously meant some questions regarding their Diwali plans. While Ranveer stated that he likes to have fun and enjoy, Anushka admitted that as far as festivals go she is not much enthusiastic about them. “I am the wrong person to ask about festivals. I will be having a small puja at home with the family. Just diyas, no crackers.” Both wished their fans a happy and safe Diwali.
The music of this film is composed by Salim-Suleiman and consists of 7 tracks and 2 remixes. The first 20 buyers of the album where given autographed CDs and also a couple tickets to the movie at any multiplex of their choice.
