Asal actress Bhavana was surprised recently to be reading rumours about her upcoming marriage in the press. “I still have a long way to go in my acting career. So there is no question of marrying someone now,” she explains, “My parents are well aware of my ambitions. So they are in no hurry for my marriage. I will be officially making an announcement in front of the media if my wedding is fixed. So please don’t believe rumours on my marriage.”
Meanwhile, she is working on her Kannada movie Jackie with Power Star Puneet Rajkumar. She now joins a small band of stars, such as Nayanthara and Priyamani, who have acted in all four of the major southern industries that made up 75% of Indian cinema admissions last year. “Now that I have been roped in for a Kannada film, I feel a sense of completeness,” she says, “Though I haven’t watched any of Puneet Rajakumar films, I have heard about him a lot. I’m eagerly looking forward to working with him.”
Already the winner of two Kerala state film awards for Nammal, in which she debuted opposite Siddharth, and Daivanamathil, Bhavana was also recently in Happy Husbands with Indrajith and Jayaram, a successful remake of the Bollywood movie No Entry.
