There must be a handful of people who hasn’t seen Dabangg for reasons unknown to anyone. In fact most people have felt the need to indulge in Chulbul Pandey more than once. And for this very reason, the film has become the 17th highest grossing Hindi film of all time, reports Times of India.

Dabangg joins a list that include films like Sholay, Mother India, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, 3 Idiots and even three other Salman Khan films: Maine Pyar Kiya, Hum Aapke Hain Kaun and Kuch Kuch Hota Hain.

However, this is not what most trade pundits are screaming and howling about. It is the sheer amount of money that Dabangg has managed to bring in rapidly that has pundits thanking Salman and Arbaaz Khan. The industry was otherwise facing a lull with only a handful of films managing to create noise at the box office. Besides Dabangg, it was Raajneeti and Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai that bought in crowds and money to the box office. Smaller films including Peepli [Live] and Tere Bin Laden managed to do the same despite being small-budgeted films.
