At a time when the biggest hits in today’s age barely manage to survive for maximum of 4-6 weeks at the big screen, it comes as a great feat that Yash Raj banner’s love story Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (DDLJ) has the merit of playing for 800 continuous weeks, at Maratha Mandir, a local cinema in Mumbai.

Starring Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan in leading roles, Aditya Chopra’s directorial claimed tremendous accolades for its cinematography across Swiss alps, chartbuster soundtracks, and wholesome mass appeal of the film. Be it Raj’s mandolin stringing character or Simran’s simplicity or Anupam Kher’s ‘Pops’ or the famous Sarson ka khet (mustard fields), the film has lent much inspirations to Bollywood ever since its release in 1995. Even after all these years, audiences throng to the theatre to cherish the freshness and romance of the trans-continental love story like no other.

On the occasion, Yash Raj has huge plans to ring in the celebrations which will be held either at Maratha Mandir itself or at a luxury hotel in Mumbai.
