The 99 rupee scheme for Fateh has worked fine. Sonu Sood’s film has taken off well.

Roshan Singh, film exhibitor from Bihar comments, “The opening is good, in fact very good, all across. People have liked the action scenes. Young viewers find them cool. They are comparing Sonu Sood’s action in Fateh to John Wick. And that’s a really high goal that Sonu had set for himself.”

Roshan fears a fall in the footfalls from tomorrow. “Once the 99 rupee scheme is removed then begins the real test for Fateh. Hopefully the word of mouth would spread and audiences wouldn’t mind paying the normal ticket rates.”

Ram Charan’s ambitious film Game Changer has not opened well in the North. Reports from Andhra and Telangana are average. But the Hindi belt has rejected the film.

A manager of a prominent multiplex chain spoke on condition of anonymity. “Game Changer has not been liked. It is the same old hackneyed corruption in politics story with Ram Charan in almost every frame. His last film had failed for the same reason, he needs to sit down with better writers who could come up with an inspired script for him.”

While Fateh is expected to stabilize its boxoffice prospects, all eyes are now on next week’s two promising Hindi releases: Abhishek Kapoor’s Azaad introduces two star children–the first newcomers of the year—and Kangana Ranaut’s Indira Gandhi act in Emergency just may trigger a minor following at the boxoffice.
