Bollywood is all set to rock 2011 with a great line-up of films with every Khan, Kapoor, Bachchan and Kumar having important releases throughout the year.
Shah Rukh Khan’s most ambitious project, the science fiction Ra.One (Random Access One) is undoubtedly one of the most-anticipated releases of the year. Directed by Anubhav Sinha, co-starring Kareena Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, the film has been in production for over a year and is touted to be Indian cinema’s most expensive venture.
Owing to the movie’s pre-release hype, comparisons with Rajinikant’s superhit Robot, Shah Rukh’s first attempt in the sci-fi genre, plus random tidbits on the costumes, looks, stunts, and production values etc, fans all across the world were eagerly waiting to catch glimpse of the movie. While the country was reveling in the New Year celebrations, the team revealed the first look of the movie in leading dailies. As it wasn’t expected, the first look came across as a pleasant surprise and instantly social networking sites were abuzz with positive reactions from the trade circles as well as audiences.
Shah Rukh who has been missing from social networking, especially Twitter, owing to his Don 2 shoot in Germany and subsequent family vacation in Dubai to usher in the New Year, was back on twitter to express his thoughts on the first look of his film. ‘am glad everyone seems to like the G.ONE look….the next level will be to reveal the powers…thanx to videocon,” he tweeted earlier in the day.
The film was being targeted to hit theatres in mid-2011 but is now being contemplated for an October Diwali festive release.
