After the success of ‘Special 26’ and ‘Baby’, ‘Rustom’ will mark yet another project where the ‘Hit’ trio would be coming together to mesmerize the audience.

Inspired by certain real life incidents, the film, which is being co-produced by Friday Filmworks, Essel Vision, Cape of Good Films and Kriarj Entertainment, is written by Vipul Rawal and will be directed by debutant Tinu Suresh Desai.
Commenting on the film Producer Shital Bhatia of Friday Filmworks said, “The film is set in the late 50’s and is a pure work of fiction. Rustom is inspired from certain real life incidents that happened in the past and will be shot in India as well as in UK.”

“Akshay Kumar’s character in ‘Rustom’ demands a completely new avatar. Ameira Punvani who is the costume designer has already begun work on Akshay’s look.  Though we can’t reveal much but the role but is something that he has never played before” added Shital Bhatia.

Apart from Akshay Kumar the film will also feature two gorgeous young actresses. Additionally, Neeraj Pandey will himself be penning the dialogues of the film. He will also be co-writing the screenplay along with Vipul Rawal and also contribute towards the films edit.

Neeraj Pandey said, “When Tinu narrated ‘Rustom’ to us we immediately got hooked to the quality of the narrative and its potential and instantly decided that it was something that we would like to produce. We also really felt that given the nature of the story, Akshay would be the perfect fit and him agreeing to come on board will definitely give it the canvas it requires.”

Zee has bagged the music rights for ‘Rustom’. The music of the film is composed by Ankit Tiwari and cinematographer is Santosh Thundiyil.
