Apart from remakes and book adaptations, Bollywood has increasingly especially in the past few years turned to real life incidents or people to seek subjects for its scripts. No One Killed Jessica, Special 26, Attacks of 26/11 are few examples of films that took a leaf of real-life stories that made headlines across national dailies. Joining this line-up, come May will see the release of I Don’t Luv U a movie based on the 2004 Delhi MMS scandal that involved creation of pornographic MMS and its illegal distribution as well as bid to auction online by two high-school students.

Written and directed by ad man Amit Kasaria, the film will recreate the events of the event and its aftermath. Ruslaan Mumtaaz who began his career with directed Mera Pehla Pehla Pyaar (MP3) and went on to do supporting roles in films like Jaane Kahaan Se Aayi Hai and Dangerous Ishhq will play the lead role that of college student, Yuvaan, in this film. The movie also stars debutante Chetna Pandey, Murli Sharma, Ravi Khemu and Ragesh Asthana in key roles. The story will be told from the point of view of the victims, and the post-event traumas they had to endure.

I Don’t Luv U further captures the potential role of media in a common man’s life. It highlights the two sides of media – on the flip side it can jeopardize a commoner’s life, while the other if used judiciously, can act as saviour.

Produced by Dr Anil Kumar Sharma in association with Dr Pallavi Mishra, Amrapali Media Vision, I Don’t Luv U is scheduled for theatrical release on 17th May 2013.
