Get ready to welcome Aditya Kashyap and Geet to your humble abode. It seems they will soon be making an entry into your daily life through the medium of your television!
After being remade into a Tamil film (Kanden Kadhalai), Jab We Met will now be adapted as a daily soap. News has it that a popular TV channel has sought Imtiaz Ali’s permission to use the storyline for a new serial. And they are taking all sorts of steps to ensure that the feel remains as close to the movie as possible.
The channel is currently scouting for ‘Shahid and Kareena lookalikes’ and many of the television actors have confirmed that they have been approached to be a part of the soap. Pawan Malhotra and Saumya Tandon who played Geet’s uncle and cousin respectively in the movie have been asked to don the same roles in the tele-version.
The locales for shooting – which were Bhatinda and Manali in the movie – will be kept the same.
Whether the serial will manage to generate the expected TRPs is something only time will tell but let’s hope that Aditya and Geet do get to be together in the end !
