Jiah Khan, the British actress who made such a big impression in Ghajini, has bagged a contract for two new movies with UTV. The company has also clarified the situation regarding Ken Ghosh’s movie Yahoo which Jiah left recently. “Speculations in the industry about Jiah Khan being dropped out of Ken Ghosh’s project are completely erroneous,” explained Ram Mirchandani, COO of UTV, “It was a mutual decision whereby Jiah opted out of the project seeing a misfit between the character and herself. Jiah is a wonderful actor with some amazing talent. We have signed her for our next projects and really look forward to working with her.”
Jiah recently walked the catwalk at Sunaina Puri’s Checkmate fashion show on the last day of Lakme Fashion Week. The collection, mainly in bold monochrome, ended with Jiah modelling a luxurious white silk ball gown embroidered with white roses to the gasps of the audience.
Jiah is known for her slightly rebellious nature and admits to using her acting talents to generate some fun for herself in unusual situations. “I remember an incident at the airport in New York, where I was talking to a fake boyfriend on my mobile and nobody could believe that there was no one else on the line,” she says, “The more people looked at me, the more dramatic I would make the scene, just to see the way they looked.”
