Filmmaker Karan Anshuman has heaped praise on Pulkit Samrat’s performance and dedication in Glory, calling the actor one of the few who completely surrendered himself to the demanding process behind the series. Having earlier collaborated on Bangistan, the director revealed that Pulkit was approached for Glory because he knew the actor would bring both emotional honesty and relentless commitment to the part.

Speaking about why Pulkit stood out for the role, Karan shared, “I think the main reason we approached him is that I wanted someone who would give it all to this role. I also knew that for him, it would be a very refreshing change and he would bite into this, which he did.”

The filmmaker explained that Glory demanded not just physical transformation through boxing and action training, but also emotional depth, patience, and complete involvement in the creative process — something he found naturally in Pulkit Karan went on to highlight how rare it is to find actors willing to dedicate extensive time to preparation in today’s fast-moving industry. “Most of the stars don’t have that kind of time. They don’t always have the time to prepare extensively, so they end up winging it. I wanted someone who would be there 24×7,” he said.

According to the director, Pulkit committed himself entirely to rehearsals, workshops, and script readings, spending countless hours understanding every beat of the character before stepping onto the sets.

The filmmaker also revealed that every scene in Glory was rehearsed repeatedly to achieve emotional precision. “It was not like we read it once and moved on. We did it again and again,” Karan shared, adding that Pulkit’s sincerity elevated the entire process.

While the actor’s action sequences and physical transformation have already become major talking points, Karan admitted that it was Pulkit’s emotionally vulnerable scenes and monologues that left the deepest impact on him as a director. Emphasising the importance of preparation, Karan concluded, “Getting it right is not going to happen in the pressure cooker situation that we shoot in. You have to be ready and prepped, so that the shoot is just the execution of a lot of homework that you’ve done already.”

He further credited Pulkit for bringing discipline, intensity and emotional maturity to Glory, making the performance one of the strongest and most layered portrayals of his career so far.
