Karan Johar’s Met Gala Costume Weighed 30 Kilos

Karan Johar’s much talked-about costume at the Meta Gala 2026 in New York, weighed 30 kilos . Karan who weighs around 60 kilos could hardly bear the weight of the costume. By the end of the Meta walk, Karan was on the verge of collapse.

The Ravi Raja Varma-themed costume designed by Manish Malhotra designed by thirty weavers and tailors took nearly 90 hours to complete.

But it seems to be all worth it. Karan Johar was apparently complimented by none other than Anna Wintour for his artistic costume.

Manish Malhotra the man behind the myth is ecstatic. “We were received with tremendous warmth . I am so happy that we could represent India on such a venerated platform. It felt surreal.”
