Kareena Kapoor is currently being inundated with positive reviews from critics for her dramatic performance in Heroine (2012). Despite many referring to the film as ‘average,’ this has not prevented critics from acknowledging Kareena’s bold portrayal of a superstar actress who gradually falls from the success ladder within the Bollywood film industry. This includes Kareena’s harshest critic and real life sister Karisma Kapoor. At a press conference earlier this week, Kareena stated to the following to an Indian newspaper: “Karisma saw the film Sunday night and after seeing her positive reaction, I felt I have done my job. She is my biggest critic. She was crying for ten minutes after watching the film. For me, that was the most special moment of my life.”
Adding to the praises was the director of the film Madhur Bhandakar. He expressed the following to the press about Kareena’s performance in his latest project: “She has never played a character like this and I am sure people will like her work. Her character is very complex and edgy. And moreover, Heroine is an intense but a very entertaining film.”
