According to multiple tabloid reports, Katrina Kaif is set to (k)croon a song for her upcoming YRF film Mere Brother Ki Dulhan co-starring Imran Khan. With the synopsis stating that Mere Brother Ki Dulhan is a musical romantic comedy, one would tend to think this may be true.

The motivation for Kat to take to the mike apparently comes from fellow co-star, famous pop singer Ali Zafar. While Katrina is said to be hesitant about taking on the new avatar given her weak Hindi diction and accent, Ali seems to have had a major role in convincing her to agree to do it. Those who believe Katrina is a stranger to the art, are highly mistaken as the damsel has lent her voice to A R Rahman’s album of nursery rhymes last year.

Though neither the stars nor the production house have confirmed the news, music composer Sohail Sen dodged the implications stating no decisions were taken.

Among her contemporaries, very few leading ladies have taken to playback in mainstream cinema, Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra being the prominent ones.

Set amongst upper middle class families in North India Mere Brother Ki Dulhan is a topsy-turvy story which takes you on a fun-filled ride of humour and romance, where Imran falls in love with his brother’s dulhan! Mere Brother Ki Dulhan is slated to release July 2011.
