Shooting star Madhumita currently has five films in hand, waiting to hit the box office. Chennai-born Madhumita first starred in Puttintiki Raa Chelli and was then successful in the Tamil hit movie, Kudaikkul Mazhai alongside Parthiban.
Also known as Swapna Madhuri, she then went on to appear in movies such as Englishkaran with Sathyaraj and Naalai. Coming up this year will be Yogi with Ameer. She describes this as the role of a lifetime and one in which her prowess as an actress will come to the fore.
One of her most controversial films so far has been Arai En 305il Kadavul where she played the role of a sex worker. Did she feel confident about taking on this role at such an early stage of her career? “When the role of a sex worker was offered to me in Arai En 305il Kadavul, I was very skeptical about accepting it. But when I realized that the dialogue I speak during the climax was the turning point in the life of the hero, I immediately accepted the role.”
