Talented director Shoaib Mansoor (Khuda Kay Liye) is back on August 31st with a hard hitting social drama titled Bol, which stars renowned Pakistani actress Humaima Malick in the lead along with singing sensation Atif Aslam and Iman Ali.
Eros International’s Bol, in association with Geo Films and Shoman Productions takes you through a journey into the life of a family experiencing their troubles, sufferings, resolves and high points. As family members take decision to solve their problems they step into deeper troubles. The complexity of their circumstances becomes a struggle of life and death. The film is based in Lahore and aims at highlighting the sorry plight of women who are treated as a worthless burden to a family in most parts of the society. It is the story of a girl, a daughter who stands up and challenges the age old societal norms of treating women as lesser beings.
It released in Pakistan in June and movie has received outstanding reviews that talk about how the director Shoaib Mansoor explores the rights of women and treads no-go areas like homosexuality and the life of eunuchs besides Shia-Sunni dynamics in a nation dominated by Sunnis. Set to release at Eid in India and the rest of the world, there have been some preview showings and Taran Adarsh said, “Saw ‘Bol’. It has the guts to expose issues plaguing the society. Brilliant, hitherto untold story, bravura performances. Not to be missed!”
