Former Miss India, Niharika Singh, will be making her movie debut in the film Miss Lovely, opposite Nawaz Siddiqui. The film explores the Indian porn industry of the 1980s and focuses on the real-life exploits of Rajesh Singh, also known as Bunty. Bunty was eventually jailed for his involvement in pornography and the film promises to pull no punches in demonstrating the sleaze behind the industry.
Nihirika, born in Haridwar, has also signed up for two movies with Himesh Reshammiya, being made simultaneously. The first is A New Love Ishtory, a romantic comedy about an uncouth man who falls in love with a successful businesswoman, played by Nihirika. The second is Mudh Mudh Ke Na Dekh Mudh Mudh? “My role in Mudh mudh ke.. is very different from the one I play in A New Love Ishtory,” says Niharika, “In Love Ishtory I play a rich successful businesswoman whereas in Mudh mudh ke.. I play a young NRI Gujrati girl who is modern and yet traditional at the same time. Another difference in both the films is that in Love Ishtory, Himesh is in love with me and in Mudh mudh ke.. I’m in love with him.”
Love Ishtory is being directed by John Matthew Mathan is an Indian film-maker who worked as an assistant director on Richard Attenborough’s Gandhi.
