Multi-tasking requires the right skill sets and temperament, which is a rare talent to posses and not something many can claim to possess. There are only a chosen few and Pernia Qureshi is certainly one of them. An entrepreneur, stylist, a trained classical dancer who also won accolades for styling Sonam Kapoor’s look in Aisha is now turning an actress.
Playing the female lead as a courtesan in Muzzafar Ali’s periodical Jaanisaar, she was confident throughout the shoot and thoroughly enjoyed it. Crediting her stage fearlessness, she clarifies “I am trained in Kuchipudi and have been performing on stage since I was five. I have always had the confidence of a performer despite being occupied with behind-the-scene activities on a film set.”
She joins a large list of eminent personalities who are all geared up to try their hands at different roles like Karan Johar, Prakash Jha, Anurag Kashyap, Sharib Hashmi, Swanand Kirkire and Zeishan Quadri, Hanif Hilal and the talented singer Monali Thakur.
