The trailer of of Salman Khan’s upcoming Diwali release, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo arrived with a bang! The film also stars Sonam Kapoor in a lead role opposite Salman.
As invariably expected from this megastar’s previous movies which have hit theatres in the past few years, the promo of PRDP (English: Got the Treasure of Love) has already crossed five million views within 24 hours of its release on YouTube and Facebook, on October 1st – a record of its own kind.
True to a Sooraj R Barjatya film, the preview, which is just over two minutes, is filled with splendour, emotions, dance, music and colours, hinting at a family drama.
In the beginning, a melodious number sung by the very talented Palak Muchhal, plays in the background, as Salman’s voice proclaims, “Main waapas aagaya, main waapas aagaya,” (I am back, I am back) amidst the backdrop of a glorious palace, which seems like a location in a beautiful setting of Rajasthan.
It appears as if Salman Khan is conveying to the audience that their adored Prem is back to mesmerise them yet again.
Salman is seen throwing his arms in the air happily, looking like a charming prince in a royal blue and golden attire. The viewers then get a glimpse of Sonam Kapoor posing like a stunning sculpture near a temple.
Next, the gorgeous Sonam Kapoor dazzles the screen, dancing like a dream in beautiful traditional Indian outfits, followed by some glimpses of her and Salman Khan together as lovers; subtle and tender.
The clip, which begins on a soft note, gets serious all of a sudden with captivating and powerful scenes, fully packed with feelings of sadness, anger, hatred, despair, mystery, conspiracy and tragedy. Everything required for a hit Hindi film.
This is exactly when the other cast of Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, is also shown – featuring Neil Nitin Mukesh, Anupam Kher and Swara Bhaskar, among others.
Later, to everybody’s surprise, Salman makes an appearance once again, but this time as a rugged, angry young man in contrast to the suave prince who was presented earlier, bringing to the fore a new character altogether – presumably of Vijay. As already reported by media, Khan is playing a double role in the film.
The trailer ends in a fairytale-like situation where both the hero and heroine are with each other, happily ever after.
Going by the preview, music by Himesh Reshammiya sounds very Indian and effortless. The story, screenplay and direction is anticipated to be extraordinary given Sooraj R Barjatya’s reputation as a filmmaker of the masses.
Releasing on 12th November, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo presented by Fox Star Studios and produced by Rajshri Productions Pvt. Ltd., promises to be a wholesome family entertainer and another blockbuster in waiting for Salman Khan along with Sonam Kapoor. Eventually, the final verdict lies in the hands of Salman and Sonam’s fans.
