Prerna Arora talking with Subhash K Jha, gives her thoughts on film making, the star kid debate, plus delves into her new film as producer the highly anticipated Jatadhara.

The never-ending debate on star kids versus continues. Your take on this?
There are good and bad in every walk of life. There are the talented star children and the not-so-talented ones. Sir, are you trying to say all outsiders deserve success? The ones who are talented get their due. Akshay Sir and now Kartik Aaryan are outsiders who became superstars. And what about the two biggest superstars of Hindi cinema, Amitabh Sir and Rajesh Khannaji… did they have relatives in the film industry?

So would you like to work with the star kids?
I would definitely like to work with some of them, like Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, and Hrithik Roshan, and among the newcomers, Babil Khan, who seems to have inherited his father’s intensity. Some of the others I would pass.

Whom would you pass?
Sir, am I stupid to tell you that? It is never nice to speak ill of anyone, especially those who are just starting out. They are all children, precious to their parents. Would I like it if someone spoke ill of my child when I have one? We must give them space to grow.

You shot recently in the South with Sudheer Babu for Jatadhara. Was that good?
It was not just good, Sir. It was a revealing experience. The discipline, the work ethics, the value of time… all of these and many other factors made my shooting in the South a memorable experience. And why are we talking South-North? Didn’t we cross that line long back?
