Prime Video Unveils its Biggest Slate to Date with Close to 70 Series and Movies Across Languages and Genres

It was an incredible event when Prime Video announced what is coming up next! Hosted by Karan Johar, Varun Dhawan, Shahid Kapoor, and Ananya Panday, the Prime Video Presents India showcase featured other stars such as Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Abhishek Bachchan, Anil Kapoor Samantha, Bobby Kapoor, Surya, Vijay Deverakonda and Boman Irani plus so many more as well as many directors all talking about their unique projects.

In fact, Prime Video unveiled an incredible ambitious and diverse content slate with close to 70 series and movies that span a myriad of genres and languages. Following closely on the heels of a successful 2023, Prime Video’s upcoming releases feature a diverse range of new series, returning favorites, shows for young adults, original movies, co-productions, and even post-theatrical releases, with most of them premiering on the service over the next two years.

Prime Video’s upcoming originals offer something for everyone in the household, featuring a wide array of series and movies spanning several genres in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. From riveting thrillers and engrossing dramas to rib-tickling comedies and spine-chilling horror, to intriguing unscripted shows, fascinating stories for young adults, high-octane action, and alluring musical dramas, the diverse range of choices brings the best local stories to screen. This is in addition to movies across languages from some of India’s most prestigious film studios that will come to the service after their theatrical premieres.

Mike Hopkins – Head of Prime Video & Amazon MGM Studios, who was in India for the brand’s flagship event – Prime Video Presents India, while talking about service in the country, said, “For the last several years, outside of the US more people have signed up for Prime in India than anywhere else in the world. And in India more people sign up for Prime Video than any other benefit. Last year, India had the highest percentage of Prime Members stream Prime Video than any country in the world.” Talking about the popularity of Indian content globally, Mike revealed, “In any given week in 2023, Indian content was watched in over 210 countries and territories. In fact, Indian programming trended in the Top 10 on Prime Video worldwide for 43 of the last 52 weeks”.
