Priyanka Chopra, one of Bollywood’s brightest stars, has a hidden talent; she can sing and well enough to do it professionally! She is known in Bollywood’s inner circles for her talent and up till now we have only heard a few notes. We first heard her singing voice on Temptations 2004 and later on the track ‘Right Here Right Now’ from Bluffmaster. It was just one line but an important one-Right Here Right Now! And then in April 2007, we heard her beautiful voice when she sang ‘Yeh Mera Dil’ from Don on Kaun Banega Crorepati’s grand finale. That impromptu performance really wowed the audience and won her a handful of singing fans.
Now, she has signed to sing a jingle for a soap-ad. “It’s an interesting concept and it didn’t take much to convince me, as I love singing. But, more than singing, it’s a kind of melodious narration of a poem, with musical background. It’s quite sweet and lovely,” said Chopra about the ad.
Chopra, like her father, is passionate about singing and though she says she will not replace Alka Yagnik, she does not rule out the possibility of a singing project. “…what’s the harm in pursuing it? If something good comes my way, I shall do it!” We surely hope to hear more from you Mimi!
