15dec_JaiGangaajal-TrailerLaunch06The wait is finally over as the trailer of Prakash Jha’s highly-awaited Priyanka Chopra starrer Jai Gangaajal is out now! The intriguing trailer was unveiled in Mumbai, today, amidst much fanfare. It received an overwhelming response from the audience and left them in awe.

Priyanka, who plays the fierce Abha Mathur, stuns in her khaki avatar and displays her acting prowess in her fierce and intense cop look. Prakash Jha is marking his full-fledged acting debut with the movie and surprises with his earnest performance. Manav Kaul, who has played the antagonist, too is perfect in his role. Murli Sharma, Ninad Kamat, Vega Tamotia and Ayush Khedekar have also played key characters in the movie.

The film’s leading lady Priyanka Chopra, who is high on the success of Quantico and Bajirao Mastani, stated, “This is my quickest film ever. I was playing a tough character but it was still important for me to also be feminine. Abha celebrates womanhood yet she is authoritative. I enjoyed playing her as she is very classy, graceful and dignified. It’s a very relevant and important film.”

Talking about the movie, Prakash Jha said, “In a well-oiled system of the powerful, a female cop is brought in, as she is thought to be weak, pliable and easy to manipulate. However, things become difficult for them, when she comes into a confrontational mode. The only person who came to my mind while I was writing the unique character of Abha Mathur was Priyanka.”

Co-producer Milind Dabke added, “As a producer it becomes difficult to find a film like this, that’s meaningful yet commercially viable. We are glad to get associated with ‘Jai Gangaajal’ and to work with Priyanka Chopra, an international celebrity, and Prakash ji, a sensitive yet commercial maker.”

The trailer launch event was attended by the entire cast and crew and stupendous performances by Sukhwinder Singh and 11-year-old singer Sugandha entertained the audiences to the hilt, whilst giving them a feel of the movie. The music composers of the film Salim-Sulaiman also attended the do, along with lyricist Manoj Muntashir.

Written and directed by Prakash Jha, produced by Prakash Jha Productions and Play Entertainment and co-produced by Milind Dabke, Jai Gangaajal revisits the dusty heartland of Central India and examines the society–police relationship. Starring Priyanka Chopra, the movie is all set to release on 4th March, 2016.
