Raanjhanaa wins over audiences worldwide to gross Rs. 31.5 crore

13jun_raanjhanaamusicreviewEros International Media Limited (Eros International) has announced a very promising opening of Rs. 31.5 crore gross worldwide for Raanjhanaa which released worldwide on 21st June. Produced and distributed by Eros International, the love saga stars National Award winning south actor Dhanush and Sonam Kapoor in lead roles and is directed by Aanand L. Rai.

In its opening weekend, the film grossed Rs. 26.5 crore in India (Net collection: Rs. 20.08 crore) and Rs. 5 crore overseas. It released across 1400 screens in India and 220 plus screens overseas. An unconventional take on love, Raanjhanaa has received unanimous thumbs up from both critics and audiences globally and continues to be applauded by the masses.

Speaking on the film’s opening, Nandu Ahuja, Sr. VP, India theatrical, Eros International Media Limited, “Raanjhanaa is yet another success story which goes on to show that films with compelling content backed with strong marketing and distribution will always be appreciated by audiences. Raanjhanaa is a tale of love, betrayal, redemption and healing set against the backdrop of Benaras and the political environs of Delhi. Apart from the brilliant direction by the talented Rai, compelling performances and powerful screenplay, a key highlight of this musical journey is the refreshing and soulful music by Oscar winning musician A. R Rahman topping charts with hits like the Raanjhanaa title track’ and ‘Tum Tak’.
