Ranbir speeds into a car endorsement deal!

Nissan’s lackluster performance in the Indian market has made the company chalk out a brand new plan for their brand new car and that is to sign up a brand ambassador who has the maximum reach among the people. Who better than the hot and happening Ranbir Kapoor!?!

Nissan Motor India Private Limited (LMPI) has roped in the Rajneeti star as the Indian brand ambassador for the next three years. At a press conference for the launch of their car Nissan Micra in Mumbai, Kiminobu Tokuyama, managing director and CEO of NMIPL, stated that Ranbir was the obvious choice because of his mass appeal and charm, which tallies with the image of Nissan. “Ranbir Kapoor is an extremely passionate, versatile and talented film star and he has shown his pedigree in a very short period,” he said.

Ranbir was all praises for Nissan as well. “I feel really good that such a big brand has given me this responsibility. It’s truly a good, comforting car and it’s not that expensive also,” he told the gathered media. Ranbir admitted that even during stay in Europe fot his studies, he had always found Nissan admirable, with GTR and 370Z being his favorites.

The ad campaign will consist of promotion in all forms of media and two ad promos featuring Ranbir were shown to the press. These ads will hit the small screen in a couple of days.

The sale of the cars in India will start from mid July, 2010.
