From what we have seen so far, Ranveer Singh has completely transformed and has given an award winning worthy performance playing the titular character in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani. The epic film, set to release on December 18th, also features two brilliant actresses Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra.
In full on Bhansali style with grand epic sets and gorgeous colors that paint the canvas of the world of Bajirao Mastani, the historical film tells the story of one of history’s greatest unsung heroes; a Maratha Peshwa who rewrote the true essence of love and fearlessly protected his kingdom for over 47 long wars. It is an epic tale of one of the greatest warriors of India and his unforgettable love story that has inspired the nation across centuries.
Of course, it being a Bhansali epic you expect epic songs and the newest one turns the focus on Ranveer Singh. Composed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali with lyrics by Prashant Ingole, the song titled ‘Malhari’ is sung brilliantly by Vishal Dadlani with choreography by Ganesh Acharya. It is a song that signifies victory and celebration and we have learned the song comes at a stage in this period drama where Ranveer Singh as Bajirao, motivates his soldiers, building confidence and morale in them for future battles. As an expression of happiness, Bajirao and his soldiers break out into Malhari, forgetting all hierarchy and celebrating yet another big victory.
