Top Tamil actress Simran will be making a welcome return in two new movies this year. Watch out for her in Seval where she stars opposite Bharat.
Despite being Mumbai-born, it’s the South that Simran conquered with her early movies, very quickly picking up meaty roles such as in Priya O Priya, Vaali, for which she won one of her many best actress awards and Jodi. She has dabbled from time to time in Bollywood, such as in Khauff opposite Sanjay Dutt and Manisha Koirala, but it is in the south in Tamil and Telugu movies that her star has shone.
Life has not always been easy for Simran. Her sister, a budding actress whose career was struggling, committed suicide and one can imagine how badly this would have affected Simran.
Asked how she will manage her husband, child and career all at the same time, she replies, “Acting in films is my profession and I’ll never quit from it. The scenario is just like any other woman working after marriage. My husband is very friendly and understanding. I am very lucky that I got him as my husband!”
