Turn up the volume and get ready for a trip back to 2008, the year that gave us one of the best musical films of recent times. The aura that Rock On left in the hearts and minds of its audience with their music 8 years ago, lingered on ever since. After a long wait, Rock On 2 is back to relive their magic once again this winter. The film is the sequel to the 2008 hit musical drama Rock On, which took the audiences on a roller-coaster ride of friendship and emotions.
Much of the film is said to be set in Shillong, a place often called the rock capital of India. Apart from the original cast, two more actors, Shraddha Kapoor and Shashank Arora, form a part of the sequel.
The teaser trailer that released has already hit the right notes where the performances look motivated. The story seems gripping and the music invokes sweet nostalgia with the title track from the original movie getting a fresh, new rendition. The Rock On 2 story will pick up from where the first part, Rock On, ended.
While the first part was directed by Abhishek Kapoor, Rock On 2 is directed by Shujaat Saudagar. Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, who composed Rock On’s hit songs, will pen the musical score for the sequel.
Rock On 2 also stars Prachi Desai and Shahana Goswami in supporting roles. The film is scheduled to release on 11th November, 2016.
