After winning over the audience with their onscreen chemistry in Love Aaj Kal, the Saif Ali Khan-Deepika Padukone pair seems to have impressed the filmmakers as well. Which is why we will be seeing this jodi in not one, not two but three different movies this year! Saif and Deepika are already starring together in Prakash Jha’s Arakshan and Abbas Mustan’s Race 2. The third film in their kitty is Homi Adajania’s Cocktail.
Saif Ali Khan had already worked with Adajania in his debut movie, Being Cyrus, which was well appreciated by viewers and critics alike. Having also agreed to star in his next movie as well, the concept and story finalization took some time but Saif has remained true to his word. In fact his home production house, Illuminati Films, will be producing the film as well. Apart from Agent Vinod, where he will be starring with his girlfriend Kareena Kapoor, all his other movies are with Deepika. Regarding this coincidence, Saif told the reporters, “Deepika and I are doing three movies together this year. It`s not something we planned but it so happened. So now we have to make an effort to look different and act differently in each movie, which is a challenge and interesting in itself”. Talking about working with Homi again he stated, “I always knew I would work with Homi again. ‘Being Cyrus’ was a product par excellence. I knew right then that if I ever started a production house, Homi would be making a movie for me. Thankfully, I didn’t have to wait too long. Cocktail is a great script, and Homi is the man who can do full justice to it. Currently, I’m busy with Agent Vinod, a project very close to my heart, at the same time I can’t wait to begin ‘Cocktail’.”
Cocktail is a love story and will most probably go on the floors next week. The film also stars Kunal Khemu.
