The first song for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s epic Heermandi: The Diamond Bazaar has been released and once again he has combined gorgeous shots and a beautiful song as only he can!

Titled ‘Sakal Ban’ (Blooming Flowers) the traditional track is sung by the talented Raja Hasan and adorned with lyrics by Amir Khusro. The song video showcases the essence of traditional folk music that resonates with Bhansali’s signature grandeur. From intricately choreographed dance sequences to lavish set designs, every aspect of ‘Sakal Ban’ reflects Bhansali’s meticulous attention to detail. With this video and the song, Bhansali invites audiences on a mesmerizing journey through the corridors of history, where tradition meets grandeur and music transcends.

‘Sakal Ban’ was launched in a very unique way! On the stage of Miss World 2024, the leading ladies of Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar walked alongside the world’s most beautiful women to the first track of the series, and the first sond from Bhansali Music. The stunning cast that includes Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Shaikh, and Sharmin Segal sporting traditional costumes walked the ramp live with the top 13 contestants of the pageant from across the globe while the gorgeous notes played.

Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar is an epic saga of love, power, revenge and freedom, set in pre-independent India against a burgeoning freedom movement, the final thread holding the art of tawaifs (courtesans) is put to the test. The series is said to be a celebration of art, culture, beauty, and Bhansali’s legacy.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 14-year passion project Heermandi, one of the most-awaited series of the year, is set to unveil in collaboration with Netflix, to global audiences soon.
