Sherlyn Chopra Becomes a Brand Name

Almost by accident, Sherlyn Chopra appears to be developing a brand identity across a wide range of products. It began when she started auctioning her own stuff through her website. Her fans lapped it up including a DVD of some of her photoshoots and personally autographed items such as bikini calendars, mugs, posters and even diamond-studded lingerie! “I guess people are maturing and it’s no longer a big deal to wear lingerie similar to that of a celebrity,” she says, “And when it’s officially available, why should one hold back?” She now intends to expand her range by developing a clothing range that includes figure-hugging dresses, halter tops and corsets.

Sherlyn is still reeling from the compliments heaped upon her on the set of the movie provisionally called Dil Bole Hadippa with Shahid Kapur and Rani Mukherjee. Rani is said to have compared Sherlyn with a young Sophia Loren, the Italian legend. “Sophia Loren comparison? Well, all I can say is that I am humbled,” Sherlyn admits, “I think Rani has been overly nice, but hey, who doesn’t like compliments? I would love to keep getting feedback and compliments from an actor of her stature.”

The Yash Raj film is the only one that Sherlyn has currently signed up to and she is pinning her hopes on it being the catalyst for the relaunch of her movie career. The music star has two successful CDs behind her in Outrageous and Dard-E-Sherlyn and also has a successful career in photo-modelling.
