Ever since her entry into Bollywood, dazzling Sonakshi Sinha has been riding high on a slew of 100 crore super hits in her kitty, including the recent Son of Sardaar and Dabangg 2. This year too, there is a string of releases which are lined up for her, but she starts the year with the special disco song in Sajid Khan’s much anticipated Himmatwala.
We present the first look of the song where Sonakshi Sinha is looking extremely glamorous in a Manish Malhotra dress. Impressed with Sonakshi’s dancing skills in ‘Go Go Govinda’ it was Sajid Khan’s idea to get her on-board as he thought she was apt for the special disco number ‘Thank God It’s Friday’!
“’Thank God its Friday’ will bring back memories of the good old days of the disco music of the 80’s and I can promise everyone that on Thursday night and Friday morning, you’ll be saying “THANK GOD IT’S FRIDAY” and Sonakshi’s fans are in for a pleasant surprise” quipped Sajid Khan.
The actor is currently shooting for the song and by the looks of it, she is all ready to sizzle and mesmerize the audience again. Famous music composer duo Sachin-Jigar who gave the hit number ‘4 baj gaye lekin party abhi baaki hai’ has been roped in for this special disco song ‘Thank God Its Friday’, which is sung by the talented Sunidhi Chauhan.
Dancing to ace choreographer Chinni Prakash’s steps, the number has a complete retro feel with shiny sets and reflective dance floors and mirrors. When asked about the song, Sonakshi said, “Right from when I met Sajid to discuss the song, its beat and catchy tune really appealed to me. I have been approached to do disco numbers earlier too, but refused. The song from Himmatwala was something different…it takes you back to the 80’s and I enjoyed the experience.”
With this glimpse of the song, we are sure that the end result will be nothing less than a firecracker! Himmatwala is directed by Sajid Khan, starring superstar Ajay Devgn and South Indian starlet, Tammanah. The film is produced by UTV Motion Pictures and Vashu Bhagnani and is all set to hit the theatres on 29th March 2013.
