She is all of 23 years, she started her career as a model, walked the ramp at Mumbai’s Lakme Fashion week in 2008 and 2009. She has formally studied fashion designing and designed the costumes for the 2005 film Mera Dil Leke Dekho. Yet in her big Bollywood debut, she has lived the dream of a million girls worldwide – costar and love interest to Salman Khan in her upcoming movie Dabangg.

10 days to tinsel town debut, but not showing any signs of jitters, Sonakshi Sinha looks fresh, calm and confident as she joins producer Arbaaz Khan and co-star Salman on endless rounds of promotion across the country.

The daughter of veteran actor ‘Shotgun’ Shatrughan Sinha, Sonakshi has been at the receiving end of excellent feedback since the promos of the film began airing. “The reactions have of course been great so far but then I am not going to take it to my head”, says Sonakshi

For someone who never harbored any filmy dreams, acting came easily to her. After all, the talent is in her genes. “I wasn’t really nervous about being in front of the camera,” she says. “Salman and Arbaaz had talked me through the process and I found I actually enjoyed it.”

When quizzed about her working experience and much appreciated pairing with Salman, she says “To work with Salman isn’t a blessing in disguise; it’s a blessing openly in front of everyone. It’s a fabulous start to my career and the magnitude that Dabangg has reached right now is become more tremendous. Dabangg is a blessing.”

Moreover, while cine-goers are looking forward to the film releasing on 10th September, if rumour mills are to be believed a sequel is already in the planning.
