2010 ended with a big Dabangg for Sonu Sood and 2011 is proving to be nothing less that awesome for the 37-year-old actor. After flooring the audience with his Dabangg act as Chhedi Singh, the actor is now preparing to stand up against not one but two legends in the upcoming months. Filming for Buddha his Hindi debut with Amitabh Bachchan in the lead is about to commence. That film is directed by Puri Jagannath, the director of the Telugu film Pokiri which was remade as Wanted. Not only that he is going to be starring opposite Rajnikanth in K.S.Ravikumar’s trilingual Rana, which goes to the floor in March.
The actor who is a regular when it comes to Telugu and Tamil films, was last seen down south in Puri Jagannath’s own Telugu flick Ek Niranjan, which also starred Kangna Ranaut. He also shared a small but significant amount of screen space with Rajnikanth earlier in another blockbuster Chandramukhi, another remake that became Bhool Bhulaiyya in Hindi.
When speaking to Times of India, the actor is quite excited about filming with the two legends of cinema. “It may sound ridiculous. However, I may as well call this shooting spell a time spent in prayer. Amitji and Rajni sir are institutions in their own right; just to be able to spend time on a set with these superstars is a kind of penance.”
With both Rana and Buddha up his sleeve, the stars seem to be smiling on Sonu.
